Mary Heisey

Program Producer, RadioActive

About

Mary teaches audio journalism and radio production for RadioActive, KUOW’s youth media program. She works alongside young people to produce powerful stories. She started producing radio and podcasts as a teenager at her college radio station and has been dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices through audio ever since. Before joining RadioActive, Mary worked with middle school, high school, and college students as they made their own radio stories at WFDD 88.5 and Guilford College in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad. Although she misses the sweet smell of Bojangles’ in the Carolinas, she still can’t get over the mountains in the Pacific Northwest.
