Send us a secure news tip

Here’s how you can privately share messages and materials with KUOW’s newsroom.

Signal is a free app available on iOS and Android that offers end-to-end encryption for messages and calls. It doesn’t collect information about who you are communicating with. It retains your phone number and the last time you used the app. Add KUOW Newsroom on Signal at 206-699-9583 or contact a reporter directly:

  • Scott Greenstone, Politics: 206-610-8737
  • Ashley Hiruko, Investigations: 206-574-8007
  • Stephen Howie, Health and Wellness: 206-537-3272
  • Liz Jones, Immigration/Education: 206-817-5431
  • Jeanie Lindsay, Olympia: 206-945-3018
  • Casey Martin, Metro: 206-712-5315
  • Amy Radil, Law & Justice: 206-200-4232
  • John Ryan, Environment: 401-405-1206
  • Gustavo Sagrero, Immigration: 206-960-3698

Email us using an encrypted email service like Proton Mail. You can send to newsroom@kuow.org

Snail mail is a secure way to reach us confidentially. Our address is KUOW Public Radio, 4518 University Way NE #310, Seattle WA 98105. Don’t put your return address on the outside and don’t send mail from your workplace. You can mail us paper documents or digital files on a thumb drive.

No method of communication is completely private, but these will protect your privacy much better than conventional email or phones do.
