As the leader of KUOW's Marketing team, Michaela is focused on growing KUOW's audience and amplifying its stories.
Prior to joining KUOW, Michaela managed content strategy, social media, and email marketing at the startups Arivale and Koru. Before that, she wrote at msnNOW.com, led writing workshops at 826 Seattle (now The Bureau of Fearless Ideas,) and ran entertainment programs at The Painted Turtle, a summer camp for children with serious medical conditions.
Michaela is a graduate of Whitman College, where she studied English and Theater. Outside of her life as a public radio nerd, Michaela is a competitive rower with Lake Union Crew and a non-competitive baker at her house. Originally from Portland, Ore., she lives in Seattle's Central District with her spouse and their daughter.
