The Cold Springs Fire near Omak, Washington, engulfed a Renton family over the weekend, burning the parents and killing their 1-year-old child.

Jake, Jamie, and son Uriel were on a weekend trip to property they had recently inherited in Okanagon County, according to a GoFundMe page set up by a family member, Tammie Mabry of Maple Valley.

Mabry wrote that the property, which is off Cameron Road, according to the Omak Chronicle, is deep in a rural area with no cell service.

“They were caught in the big Cold Spring Fire on Sunday, we think around midnight,” Mabry wrote. “Their abandoned truck was found burned. The fire chased them to the river.”

Uriel had died by the time the family was found on the banks of the Columbia River, according to KXLY TV. They were found by Colville tribal Department of Natural Resources boat crew, according to the Omak Chronicle.

Jake, 31, and Jaime, 26, were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Family had reported them missing on Tuesday. They were found on Wednesday after surviving outside for three nights.

According to Tammie Mabry, Jake Hyland will need surgery on his arms. Jamie is in worse shape, she said, using the word "critical." Thirty to forty percent of Jamie’s body was covered in burns, Mabry wrote.

The Cold Springs Fire has burned more than 163,000 acres so far, and there’s no word yet of containment. The fire exploded on Monday, Labor Day, as winds blew in.
