King County exec steered contract toward political supporter David Meinert, complaint says

Kim Malcolm talks with Seattle Times reporter Sydney Brownstone about a whistleblower complaint involving King County Executive Dow Constantine.

On Thursday, Brownstone reported that King County's former Parks and Recreation director Kevin Brown filed a whistleblower complaint in 2018. It claims Constantine pressured Brown into giving a lucrative contract to a company co-owned by David Meinert, a friend and political supporter of Constantine.

Eleven women accused Meinert of sexual assault in two exposes that Brownstone wrote for KUOW.

Constantine denies the allegations.
