How Jeffrey Tambor got his start in Seattle and became somebody
The idea of getting up on stage may terrify most of us, but actor Jeffrey Tambor knew from a very young age that was exactly what he wanted to do.
As long as he can recall, he’s wanted to give people his autograph.
Tambor is an acclaimed stage and screen actor. He got his first professional break at Seattle Repertory Theatre, and went on to a long career of notable roles. But in 2014, his portrayal of Maura Pfefferman on the Amazon series Transparent took him to a new level.
Tambor is the author of “Are You Anybody?: A Memoir.” He spoke with Seattle-based author and Salon TV critic Melanie McFarland in a Seattle Arts & Lectures event at Town Hall Seattle on May 23.
Jennie Cecil Moore recorded their conversation. SAL’s Rebecca Hoogs introduced the event.
