We’re heading toward Spring. Longer days bring more cultural offerings in the greater Seattle area.

KUOW’s Arts and Culture reporter Marcie Sillman offers these ideas.

THEATER

Seattle Theatre Group presents the touring production “The New Colossus,” written by Tim Robbins and the Actor’s Gang troupe. Robbins will be on hand for post-show conversations. Through Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Moore Theatre.

FILM

The 15th annual Seattle Children’s Film Festival, presented by Northwest Film Forum opens Thursday Feb. 27.

VISUAL ART

Tacoma Art Museum takes a look at public art from the Great Depression. “Forgotten Stories: Northwest Public Art of the 1930’s” opens Feb. 22.

Bellevue Arts Museum offers Free Family Day, “Full STEAM Ahead” Saturday Feb. 22.


OPERA

“Charlie Parker’s Yardbird” opens at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall Saturday Feb. 22, presented by Seattle Opera.


DANCE

On the Boards presents “Solo: A Festival of Dance” through Feb. 23.
