KUOW Board of Directors welcomes six new members

KUOW is thrilled to welcome six new members to the KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio (PSPR) Board of Directors: Andrea Woody, Emily Parkhurst, Lindsey T.H. Jackson, Ryan Douglas, Roy Lambert, and Trish Lum.

The KUOW PSPR Board of Directors oversees the organization’s finances and overall operations, ensuring ethical governance and sound financial practices guide the organization toward its goals and a sustainable future. PSPR Board members can serve up to three terms of three years each.

New Board Members

Andrea Woody: Andrea Woody is Divisional Dean of the Social Sciences and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Washington. She is adjunct faculty in the departments of Dance; History; and Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies. Professor Woody is Editor-in-Chief of Philosophy of Science and a member of the Editorial Board of Foundations of Chemistry. She served as Chair of the Department of Philosophy from 2016 to 2022. She previously served as Associate Editor of Historical Studies in the Natural Sciences and a member of the organizing committee of the Society for the Philosophy of Science in Practice (SPSP). She received her bachelor's degree, in chemistry, and certification in Theater and Dance, from Princeton and her doctorate, in history & philosophy of science, from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interests include philosophy of science, history of science, aesthetics, and feminist perspectives in philosophy.

Emily Parkhurst: Emily Parkhurst is the founder and CEO of Formidable, a media and membership company aimed at high-level women leaders. She has 20 years of media experience including time as the head of content for national media startup 6AM City. She also spent a decade at the Puget Sound Business Journal, where she served as a reporter, managing editor, editor in chief and then publisher and president. Before that, Emily was a reporter in her home state of Maine, where she covered education and government and won the SPJ's Sigma Delta Chi Award for Investigative Reporting for her series on the therapeutic restraint of Maine's public school children. Emily also served as the interim president of Cornish College of the Arts in 2024 and 2025.

Lindsey T.H. Jackson: Lindsey T.H. Jackson is a visionary systems thinker, executive coach, and embodied futurist working at the intersection of trauma healing, leadership development, and cultural transformation. As the founder of LTHJ Global and host of Unlearning with Lindsey T.H. Jackson, she is committed to removing the internal and systemic barriers that prevent individuals and organizations from reaching their highest potential. Through her signature methodologies—The Enneagram of Bias™ and I-We-Us Leadership Framework™—and her lived experience as a Black woman, mother, artist, and researcher, Lindsey helps leaders align their values with their behaviors, not as performance but as practice.

Ryan Douglas: Ryan Douglas is a Senior Vice President at Pacific Crest Bank, where he manages the bank’s risk management and regulatory compliance functions. Before joining the bank, he spent over 15 years working in Washington State government, first as a tax administrator and later as a bank regulator. Born in Seattle, Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Washington. He later completed a graduate-level accounting program through UW’s Foster School of Business as part of his path to becoming a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Ryan is passionate about building community and has held various leadership roles, including advising the Seattle Symphony’s former young patrons’ group and participating in diversity initiatives across Washington State government. He has also served as co-chair of a statewide business and employee resource group supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ state employees.

Roy Lambert: Roy and his family recently moved from Dallas, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest and proudly call Seattle home. After serving his community outside New Orleans, Louisiana, for fifteen years in law enforcement, Roy retired and transitioned to a career as an attorney. Today, Roy practices insurance law as a senior attorney, handling commercial property disputes, subrogation matters, and complex litigation in Washington, Oregon, Texas, and Louisiana. Before that, he served as an Attorney Advisor with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Administrative Law Judges, working on cases involving worker protections, whistleblower complaints, labor law disputes, immigration labor certification, and more.

Trish Lum: Trish is a retired business executive with over 30 years of leadership experiences across various industries and functions. Most recently she was Director of Professional Services with Amazon Business whose team provided solutions to help enterprise customers achieve their procurement goals. Prior to Amazon, Trish was at Starbucks for 13 years holding several key roles including Vice President of Commercialization overseeing product launches globally and Vice President and General Manager of their Foodservice division. She is currently on the board of Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) where she serves on the finance committee and was board President on an interim basis during a critical leadership transition. She’s also on the board of Ethical Apparel Africa Foundation, an organization providing startup support to increase the wellbeing and empowerment of workers in the garment factories in Africa. Previously she served on the board of Ronald McDonald House Charities for 9 years.
