This week we're bouncing through the political news
Bill Radke reviews the week’s news with Chris Vance, co-chair of Washington Independents, Erica Barnett, writer of the city policy blog the C is for Crank, and David Kroman, reporter for Crosscut.
We remember the life and legacy of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
And, Seattle Police officers agreed to a new contract. The Guild liked it, the Mayor liked it, but this week the Community Police Commission is calling on the Seattle City Council to vote no on the contract. What are their concerns?
Also, Dr. Kim Schrier and Dino Rossi met for their first and only debate in their race for the 8th Congressional District. What did we learn about these two candidates?
During the debate Rossi accused Dr. Schrier of being divisive. He pointed to the time she joined a protest outside of his campaigns kick-off breakfast in April saying, “my opponent was one of the 8 protesters, put it up on Facebook, standing there with a nasty sign about me.”
We asked Dr. Schrier’s campaign what was on the sign and they said she attended the protest to support the group “Indivisible,” but did not hold a "nasty sign. "
After the broadcast the Rossi campaign responded with a link to the photo he was referring to in the debate.
And should smoking be banned from King County Parks? That news and more, reviewed this week.
