Kim Malcolm talks with Dr. Deborah Giles about the challenges facing southern resident killer whales.

Giles is a whale research biologist with the University of Washington's Center for Conservation Biology. She's also science and research director for the nonprofit Wild Orca.

On Friday, Governor Jay Inslee's orca task force will release it's recommendations.
