Smoke from wildfires will blow into Western Washington on Wednesday.

But before you start taping air filters to box fans...

"It's not going to be anything like Dante's version of the Pacific Northwest that we suffered through a couple of weeks ago," said State Climatologist Nick Bond .

Bond says that while smoke will drift into the region, it won't be as severe as what Seattle saw earlier in the month.

Seattle's air quality was teetering between good and moderate on Wednesday morning, September 30, as the wave of wildfire smoke started wafting up from California.

At sunrise, the particulates were mostly aloft, high in the atmosphere. As temperatures rise during the day, the smoke could start mixing down into the surface level air.

So, while the smoke will make for some more colorful sunsets, Bond said it shouldn't be a serious health issue.
