The online grocery business is a real tough nut to crack.

The retailer who can finally claim victory will first need to tackle the avocado problem and the gallon of milk problem. Basically: People like picking out their own stuff and since they’re at the store anyway, they might as well pick out a bunch of it.

It’s been tried in different ways for 20 years, but Amazon thinks it can once again cut out the middleman. But that might mean adding in some middle robots.

On this episode of Prime(d), we look at why online grocery shopping hasn’t been successful yet and how everyone is now jumping back into the game.

Our theme song is "Ripples on an Evaporated Lake" by Raymond Scott. You also heard "Heartline" by Pezzner, a Seattle artist.
