UW investigating after intruder disrupts a class with slurs, apparent Nazi salute
University of Washington police are investigating an incident where a man interrupted a human sexuality lecture.
A viral video of the incident shows the intruder shouting gay and ableist slurs and appearing to make a Nazi salute as the class jeered him.
After the professor and dozens of students ran the man out of the building, he appeared to film the professor yelling at him. Eventually, someone else ran up and appeared to pepper spray the intruder.
After another chase, students tackled the man and he was arrested by university police.
UW spokesperson Victor Balta said the case is under investigation for possible criminal charges, and that police are still investigating, including the person who pepper-sprayed the intruder.

"The incident on Wednesday in which an individual interrupted a lecture in Kane Hall while apparently making Nazi salutes and hurling insults at the instructor and students is completely unacceptable," Balta said. "The UW is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment and will continue to do everything possible to ensure our community’s safety."
Balta said the intruder is not a UW student and will be banned from campus.
Balta encouraged staff and students to call the university police rather than put themselves at risk in such situations.
