It's Halloween, and you probably have your own family tradition. Carving a jack-o-lantern, dressing up, eating too much candy.

For Seattleite Matt Woerner, it’s watching horror films with his 4-year-old daughter, Chloe.

That's right, his 4-year-old daughter.

Reporter Katy Sewall interviewed Matt and Chloe about their love for slasher flicks. This story is equal parts shocking and adorable.

It’s been nine years since Katy Sewall did that interview. We asked Katy to check in on Matt and his daughter Chloe, who is now 13-years-old. Nothing has changed. Chloe still loves gore and horror.

But she's older now, and has recommendations of her own for toddlers easing into the horror genre:

So, her recommendations?

“'Care Bears.'”

“Horror,” Matt says. “Not horrible.”

“That is horror,” Chloe counters. But OK.

“I would probably do the remake of 'Halloween' because even though it was gory, it was really cheesy.”

Matt harrumphs.

“I think those are horrible recommendations," he says. "What happened to you? Maybe horror movies did impact you.”

Chloe doesn’t flinch.

“I’m saying those two movies because they’re really cheesy, and I don’t think they would scare my kid,” she says. “Then I would go into the wham bam 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'Scream.'”
