Bill Radke review the week's news with Eli Sanders, associate editor at The Stanger; Ashley Archibald, reporter for Real Change News; and Karen Weise, tech correspondent for the New York Times.

What happened between Jan. 4-10? Listen in on the conversation on The Record.

  • Iranian-Americans returning from trips to Canada say that they were held by US Customs and Border Protection agents for up to 12 hours. Is that legal?
  • Seattle's Planning Commission has called for less single family zoning. Will the city get behind the idea?
  • As of Wednesday children who aren't vaccinated are barred from Seattle Public Schools. There are exceptions - what are they?
  • There's a chance we'll get snow next week! So please, as Karen begs, shovel your sidewalk. Of course, now that we've talked about it, it won't snow at all.
  • The city council votes next week on campaign finance reform. Mayor Durkan supports the reform, but will that be enough to let it pass? Speaking of finances, Facebook is still selling political advertisements in Washington State, even though it's illegal. And now they have politician Drew MacEwan on their side. Why go all in with a big tech company?
  • Finally, we may be getting some new neighbors to the north. Prince Harry and Megan Markle are heading for Canada. But why do Americans care?
