Seattle Restaurant Week is back with a range of deals and newcomers
The Seattle area’s vibrant food scene can be prohibitively expensive for some folks most days of the year.
But with the return of Seattle Restaurant Week on Sunday, you could have a chance to enjoy fine dining without breaking the bank.
The list of participating restaurants can be daunting, though, so we’re highlighting a few newcomers to the two-week dining event to help the uninitiated find their new favorite restaurant.
Barking Frog
If you want to go the posh route, Barking Frog at Willows Lodge in Woodinville is one option. Its menu focuses on seasonal and locally sourced and foraged ingredients.
Make it a full day event and visit the more than 100 wine tasting rooms and wineries Woodinville has to offer.
The George
For those curious about the historical Fairmont Olympic Hotel’s recent $25 million restoration, here’s your chance; The George is joining SRW this year.
Formerly known as The Georgian Room, this elegant restaurant was a place for special occasions. Gone are the white tablecloths and crystal chandeliers. The new space evokes a modern brasserie in the heart of downtown Seattle.
MariPili Tapas Bar
Speaking of makeovers, you might’ve recently had a bite at the Frye Museum’s café featuring Chef Grayson Corrales’ Galician-inspired menu. If you want more, head over to her Capitol Hill restaurant, MariPili Tapas Bar, where small plates are meant to be shared and enjoyed with wine.
Anchovies and Salt
Anchovies and Salt at Renton’s Lake Washington waterfront offers modern casual Vietnamese cuisine. The menu reflects the different regions in Vietnam. Be sure to check out the restaurant’s sauce bar, featuring more than 10 kinds of fish sauce, anchovy sauce, and shrimp sauce.
Dumpling the Noodle
You don’t often come across dim sum options for SRW, but at Dumpling the Noodle in Kirkland, you have three (count ‘em, three!) dim sum menus to choose from. Each menu includes dumplings, of course.
The “All Time Favorite” has the classics: pork buns and pork dumplings, but if you want to mix it up, the “Beer Partner” menu includes bulgogi dumplings and house sweet chili fried chicken.
Seattle Restaurant Week runs through April 27. Menu prices range from $20 to $65. Find the complete list of restaurants here.
