Capturing Oso Through Photos: 'One Of The Worst Things I've Ever Seen'

Bill Radke talks with photojournalist Joshua Trujillo about his experience covering the Oso mudslide through photography.

"I think this was probably one of the most devastating scenes that I have ever, ever encountered in my job," Trujillo said. "My job takes me from peaks of happiness for people, to witnessing these really awful situations. This one just really has such a vast amount of devastation and heartbreak concentrated in a very small geographic area."

Trujillo, who spent the last week and a half living out of his Volkswagen camper van, said the world needs to be informed and understand the scope of the devastation in Oso.

"Until you stand in that debris field, it's so difficult to comprehend because it's just enormous, wretched and ugly," he said. "It's one of the worst things I've ever seen."
