Volunteer With KUOW

Announcement: KUOW has suspended its volunteer program due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We'll update this page when the volunteer program is active again. In the meantime, if you would like to be part of our Community Feedback Club, just text the word “club” to 206-926-9955 and we'll be in touch!

All interested volunteers must be 18 years old or older, attend a Volunteer Orientation session, and complete a UW background check before volunteering. All volunteer duties are flexible and scheduled in advance.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

KUOW Live Events

KUOW produces live events such as "Week in Review Live," "Inside 2020 with NPR," and "Stories from the Wild." Live events connect KUOW's programming, journalists, and on-air talent with the community-at-large, and volunteers are instrumental to their success. Volunteers assist with setup and execution of events, guest check-in, ushering, engaging with guests, distributing collateral, and anything else that goes on behind-the-scenes! Volunteers play a crucial role in introducing the station to new communities through face-to-face interaction.

Community Engagement

KUOW’s Community Engagement team ensures that KUOW has a meaningful and interactive relationship with the informed public we hope to promote and serve. They do this through intimate, smaller-scale programs such as "Curiosity Club" and "Ask A _____." Volunteers are needed to assist with outreach and general Community Engagement team support at programs and events.
