The Burke Gilman’s "missing link" has been a consistent problem for cyclists and the City of Seattle alike.

The missing link is a stretch of road bikers are pushed onto because of a gap in the protected bike route on The Burke-Gilman Trail. This gap pushes riders into regular traffic and includes a tricky railroad crossing that can catch riders' tires and cause an accident.

Now, a group of ten riders have begun the process of bringing a lawsuit against the city for crashes caused by the “missing Link.”

Soundside caught up with Seattle Times transportation reporter David Kroman about the ongoing legal disputes over the 1.4-mile stretch, and if changes to The Burke are on the horizon.
