New leadership at Seattle's Frye Art Museum
Seattle’s Frye Art Museum has named a new director. Joseph Rosa will become the Frye Museum’s new leader this fall.
Rosa currently directs the University of Michigan Museum of Art, where he has worked since 2010. He replaces outgoing director Jo-Anne Birnie Danzker.
Danzker had announced her departure last winter.
The Frye Art Museum was founded in 1952 with the personal art collection of Charles and Emma Frye.
Admission is always free.
Under Danziker and her staff, the Frye has expanded its community outreach and its programming. The museum is now regarded as one of the city’s leading contemporary art venues.
