Cop watchdog groups at odds
In June, the Seattle City Council imposed a ban on crowd control weapons like tear gas, blast balls, and projectile launchers that were being used to quell protesters. C groups are split on whether or not to endorse the ban. Andrew Myerberg heads the Office of Police Accountability, which thinks the measures are warranted during protests. The Community Police Commission, which unlike OPA is not part of the police department, disagrees.
