Trade fighting could take a bite out of Washington's apple industry
U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum went into effect Friday for Canada, the European Union and Mexico. That decision by the Trump Administration could now hurt one of Washington state's signature exports: apples.
Mexico, the state's largest foreign apple buyer, said last week they will place their own tariffs on U.S. products, including grapes, cheese and Washington apples.
