The amount of money you pay for your annual car tabs? It's not coming down to 30 bucks. That's what Washington voters chose last year in a state ballot initiative, but yesterday it was struck down by Washington's supreme court. Initiative sponsor Tim Eyman says it won't stop him from trying again.

Plus, Mayor Durkan has announced who's on a committee that will recommend how to use $100 million allocated for Black, indigenous and people of color communities. Some activists worry that the committee will be used as a window dressing, instead of meaningful change.

Also, Lt. Governor Cyrus Habib has left the state to train to become a Jesuit priest. The Lt. Governor is second in command after Governor Inslee - why are they allowed to just leave the state?

And you should have received your ballot in the mail by now. On that ballot you'll of course see the big races - President, governor, etc. But there are plenty of down ballot elections to decide on as well. Panelists describe what's happening with the Secretary of State, the 8th district, and King County charter initiative five.

Speaking of King County, this week, the KC Sheriff’s office came down hard on a detective who appeared to mock civil rights and racial justice protesters. They recommended that the detective be fired. Now it's up to the Sheriff to decide if that'll actually happen.

Finally, last month high school football players from around our state asked the Governor to let school sports resume this fall. They didn't get their wish, but one football trainer decided to hold games anyway, ignoring coronavirus restrictions. Will the state enforce those restrictions and stop these games from continuing?
